why does my aro swim sideways during the daytime? the lights are off and his top is always towards the front of the tank. he doesn't swim sideways in only one side. it's always both sides so the top of him is toward the front of the tank. at night with the light on he's fine. it's just during the daytime. the tank is sort of in a semi bright room with sunlight coming from the windows. is there any way to make him see the light at the top? is there something like to cure this issue?

many fish consider the light source as up, no matter what direction it is really coming from. so if during the day light is shining in from the side, you get whats happening to your aro.

ya. if the light source comes sideways, the fish will swim sideways. put a light on top of ur tank.

i have a light on the top of the tank. but i'm just wondering if he'll get used to how he swims at night. or if he'll get used to it during the day..thanks for the responses the aro is still pretty new so i'll just wait it out, only wondering if other ppl's aros do the same thing and what they did. also the fish is more spooky and darts the tank during the day.

Leave the lights in the tank on during the day and shut them down for about 8 hours at night.

Without the tank lights switched ON during the day, your Aro will continue to swim sideways considering the front side of the tank (where the sunlight's coming from) as "up".

Good luck,
Sid

thanks sid. i have the lights on the tank now. i don't want the jardini to produce droop eye that's why i'm sorta worried about this. plus at night is when the aro looks best swimming how it's supposed to, also seems to eat better at night since it's swimming normal and not spooked out. not to worry tho.

My aro does the same. Its tilting to the front of tank where the light is shiny in. I guess its. Normal.
