aro tank mates calm or community?

I have found that inside the tank it really doesn't matter, once the aros are larger. Baby aros should be kept by themselves. Where you need the "calm" is outside of the tank. Arowana tend to get aggitated if there is a lot of traffic around the tank.

My experience is mainly with SA arowana and it may be different for other species.

x2, also depends on how big your tank is and how big the aro is.

if you have it in high traffic, it "might" get used to it. my leichardti is in my living room and its a main walk way for me to get to/from my bedroom or anyone that walks in my house HAS to walk passed it. first year he spazzed out everytime almost. you'd have to come around the corner slowly so he knew you were coming and wouldn't spook.

another year later, he follows me back n forth begging for a meal every time i walk by. when i open the front door to walk in the house, i seem him staring at me nose first already begging for food. he got used to it

my garge monsters, beg once u open the garage door lol. leichardti tank is almost empty, jus 4 tankmates being 2 bichirs and 2 loaches. garage monsters are loaded, 3 silvers, catfish, cichlids, gars, gourami. they seem to enjoy eachother. my leichardti enjoys his space
