Just found my silver beating the hell out of my Chinese Perch. They have been together for 1.5-2 years, and for some reason he started slamming him into the side of the tank. I got the perch moved to the 110 where I hope he can make a full recovery. He has torn fins, a cloudy eye, and scraped scales.


BTW....that Chinese Perch is STRONG!

Sounds strange, I guess considering fish are unperdictable this could happen at anytime. I myself am playing with fire, my two 21-24" silvers are housed with many 5" fish. Someday I could come home to a couple of fat aros with no tankmates.

Perch is doing alright today. The silver is in with a big CK, 2 oscars, a marbled pim, big lima shovelnose, and a little pleco. He just decided that he didn't like the perch. Maybe the perch said something about his momma.

That's good to hear...at least you know the silver will stick up for his momma.

Weird timing because my silver is doing the same thing. All of a sudden he decided he hates one of my ATs...it's not nearly as bad as your situation, but it's starting to worry me....now.
