hey guys i got a 4 inch jar.hes been on bloodworms and freeze dried shrimp.he wont take in pellets how can i train him on pellets?should i not feed him anyhting but pellets till he takes them?kinda like strave him until he eats it?

you can do what i did.... get freezed dried krill which is shrimp....then switch to omega one flakes the one with the yellow and red label with the red top(has lots of krill in it) then switch to the omega one cichlid pellets (the one with the purple top and yellow/purple lable, also has lots of krill) dont get the black lable one it says floating but with the one i got 75% sank and 25% floated.... not sure if it was a bad batch......then do the switcharoo with pellets of your choice and he wont know the difference.... buy the small packages of that suff.... it should cost you less then 15 bucks

don't starve it until it gets at least twice as large, IMO. soak the pellets first and get smaller ones.

im currently trying hiroki gold,i saw some aro strips at the lfs i think by hiroki too im not sure i might try those

Are you using hikari mini's, baby sized pellets, or mediums? My 5" jar is taking the mini's. When he was smaller he wouldn't take freeze dried shrimp. I think it was because they were too big for him. Try frozen blood worms. He's always taken them.

In my opinion, they'll do alright until he starts taking the pellets. I wouldn't make it long term. I feed mine freeze dried shrimp, frozen b.w., and Hikari gold. It did take a few weeks before he would take anything other than frozen b.w. and feeders. Now, I don't give him any feeers.

You could try starving him 24-36 hours. Then if he doesn't take the pellets throw in a cube of b.w.

ok im jsut worried because if u guys havt seen my earlier thread,i belevie he has interal parasites or somehting?pooping out white strings.is that from feeders and stuff?he was eating bw and crickets.
