Do arowanas often get dropeye? I've seen a number of pictures, on here and elsewhere, that show aros from both sides, and one side has a lower-pointed eye than the other. Is this a common ailment? I know it doesn't often really hurt them, at least.

I've never seen anything but aros with it, come to think..
Thanks, I wanted to make sure FDR (I call the big aro that) at the store wasn't that much of an oddball and you made me feel better :D

(:nilly: NOT ANOTHER 1) its common in silver aros, and not all aros get DE as often, asians, australian, blacks rarely get DE,who knows if it hurts or not are we arowanas? no

Hi all
After reading about this i went home and checked my arro(60cm) and there it was, his one eye is fine the other goes from side to side but always looks down.0nly thing that has changed is the Red Tail Cat has grown (40cm) and tends to push the arro about a bit and could be stressing him. So are there any cures for this, and how do we prevent this happening to his other eye
Thanks
Rob

There are many opinions on the causes and treatment of DE. Best to research as much as you can and develop your own opinion.

Here are a couple of DE threads to read.
