THE GARDEN STATE
Is it a ok to add mealworms to my Silver Arowanas diet? I read a post not to long ago but it was unclear to me. some say mealworms are to fatty and causes drop eye. others say they are is great? Opinions are greatly appreciated.
i currently feed him: smelt, shrimp, tilapia, shrimp pellets, and occasionaly live feeders. Anything else i should throw in?

you give your aro a good diet already and adding mealworm whilst still feeding everything else you feed can only enhance the diet.

Feed them less often i guess if you are afraid of droop eye. You can also feed crickets and earthworms and they can be cultured easily.

Dont feed them too often or else it will create a film on the surface of your water..something about whats inside of them I cant quite remember. but it happened to me when I had my snapping turtles, it was like an oil slick.

i wont comment too much on this issue before some ppl get the fits tt we asians are being arrogant.

Just stick to what ever works for u. :grinyes:

their is no prof that meal; worms cause drop eye

i will coment as some asians think us europeans know nothing

if the farm breeders did their job properly and did more resurch on drop eye then maybe they could breed it out if its genetic or let us know what food causes drop eye

as you do know sooooooo much more than us :D

never once have i claimed to know soooo much, i even have to refer to Rocky for info as he has far better knowledge than me.

I only state what farms and specialist shops state.

Said before and i'll say again. No one knows whats the cause of droop eye. But again and again some people just refuse to accept an "don't know" as an answer.

Won't say anything since what an aro farm owner or a farm scientist tells me is not worth anything compared to someone w 14yrs experience.

But pls refrain from trying to find probs. :)
