So this is another post for my dad's outdoor pond. This year he wants to redo the top of the pond. He tried stacking blocks and did not turn out to look very good. Any ideas for different ways to set this up? Ill attach pictures

He could get creek rock from a landscaping or pond store. That would look a little more natural. Also try planting some native plants (especially flowering ones) around the pond. This will add more natural looks, as well as attract birds, bees and butterfly's to the pond.

Maybe add some floating plants to the pond? Like water lettuce, etc.

Maybe try adding a bench/sitting area as well, so that you can sit and enjoy it, rather than having to stand.

Lastly, he could add a waterfall to one end of the pond. That will improve the looks, filtration, and aeration of the pond, all good things.

Use my pond as inspiration, take some ideas? keep us updated. Glad if it helped.

Any natural stone will look better than concrete blocks...
Those blocks could be used to make a berm on the backside of the pond to add a sitting area or bog:naughty:
Buy them from a nursery or garden center. Get different sizes as well, small, med. and a few large in the mix. Try to avoid a rock necklace though. Meaning, don't just replace the blocks w/boulders. Make the egde a little more free form. Plants in and out of the pond will also soften the edges and help hide the filter.
