Arow and Pacu

Not for me. I have a 23" pacu with a 26" silver aro (which have been together for almost 2 years, since the pacu was 2.5" and the aro was 6"). They did fine until the pacu got to about a foot long and started a habit of biting the aro's fins off. It continued to do it almost daily until it was around 20", and then it stopped for a while. Now it just does it maybe once every two weeks, but it is still enough to make me wish I had never bought it in the first place.
Edit: And btw, this is in my 225 gallon aquarium. The minimum recommended tank size for pacu is around 500+ gallons, which I think may be why mine is so aggressive.

on my venture of keeping aro and pacu at the same tank was a success..yeah only for short period of time, i had to return it..not because he was too agressive and all that.it was just because it hogged all the food that i feel sorry for my bichers and knives
my time with pacu and aros was the same as stated, pacu would nip the aros streamers off over and over.
I had 3x 8" Pacus with my 3x 15" Aros and they would spook the aros constantly and hog all the food. Had them together for 3 months, sold them right before i moved.
I have two pacu around 12 inches and the fact they go crazy evrey time I feed them would tell me that the aro would need to stay out of the way. I have mine in with two soft shells and a large male flowerhorn (rescue guy) and an african walking catfish. Nothing else seems to do well in there. Good luck on your decision
