Are arows supposed to swim near the surface all the time because mine started swimming near the bottom all day now and rarely goes up uunless he eats.

Aros are normally serface feeders but my wife and I noticed that the more used to her tank she became the more time our aro spent on the bottom.

Some aros do, some don't. 3 of mine stay at the surface quite religiously, one goes to the bottom regularly. All are healthy, and all are relatively close in size.

my silvers n black are always in the top 1/4 of the tank jar occasionaly goes 1/2 down... if any of them swim below this... they are stressed! thats how it is with my aro's....

im pretty sure they stay at the top. there mouth is designed to be a top feeder

Both of my silvers snd my black all occasionally swim at the bottom of the tank. You shouldn't worry unless your aro is sitting at the bottom of the tank, even then it may be that it has been spooked. How big is your aro? If he eating, then that is good. Could just be a phase for him, but keep tabs on the water parameters.

yeah but its an amazing scene when you see them dive down to the bottom and snatch their food that sinks to the bottom
