First of all im new to Monster Fish Keepers, so wth that said Hello! Ive been keeping cichlids though for 10+ years and saltwater for 4yrs. Im thinking of going with something diffrent and more majestic to look at but very cool. I may be getting a custom 190g 48"x36"x25" lots of surface room. I have lots of possibilities with this tank, and a couple of thoughts have been arowana or something similar. Maybe rays. Ive done some research, but any thoughts or advice from expeienced keepers are always great and welcome.

Hey bro! Welcome. Your custom tank sounds delicious - and I like both of your choices - aro and rays. I don't see why you couldn't do both. But then again, I've never kept rays.

You could do just about anything with that tank bro! Jude

the width is ideal

but you possibilities are limited withthat length

extend the length by two feet and your all set :)

aros will need more than 4 feet, but the width is perfect.

would that be too small for a grown black aro? i know a silver would get too long for the 4' length you have but you could get a few good years in there if you had the possibilty to upgrade one day.

Yeah thats what I was thinking as well, buying another custom tank later on down the road. For the most part I choose this size aquarium for its uniqueness and plus it perfect for the space where I want to put it. Im not one to buy a fish though if I belive it doesnt have enough space. So I will look into another fish most likely. Maybe as demjor19 mentioned a black arow, possibly knifes; dont really know im still in the planning proccess. Thanks for the advice and recomendations.

black aros will still reach 2' easy and i dont think 4' long enough for a 2' fish but its up to you. rays would be great for that tank because of the width though and there are many other cool fish to choose from.

A black aro and some ray's...great combo, visual wise

Thats a nice tank, but u know what, fresh water stingrays are illegal in tx. Just a little heads up
