My smaller aro has been attacking my bigger one. I moved the bigger one( about 10") to a 29 gallon to heal up. He has missing scales, missing fins, and his barbels are now really short. What's the best way to treat this and will his barbels grow back? How long will it take him to heal up?

barbels is a maybe. i know of some that lost them and years have gone by and hasn't grown back yet.

jus bump up the temp to like 83ish, add salt. n feed normally.

Just give him some time, clean water, and TLC.:)

he will heal in no time. aros are awsome healers! i had a festae cichlid attack my silver and it knocked a bunch of scales off and it was to the point where it was an open sore. the aro wasall healed up within a week. like ethnics said keep it warm and add some salt. thats all i did.

was this smaller arowana perhaps a jar?

and i agree to the bottom advise

Yup, salt, temp, clean water = healthy fish in no time. ;)

my asian broke off his whole tailfin and is recovering like a mofo. he will be back in business in notime so you dont have to worry about yours. ive had no salt, just clean water and 29 degrees water.
