I read a lot about breeding Asian Arowana but I would like to breed South American Black Aros. Can it be done in a tank? Has anybody done it? I have a large tank L120xW32xH24 it about 400 gallons. I guess another question is to sex them?

black arrowanas?
its not an easy task
i would say the bigger the tank the better
when i saw a breeding clip theyre was no substrate
so that would be good too

Awsome ank footprint......Personally, I would try breeding arrows in a round indoor pond or cow trough...

In Hawaii there's a university that bred silver aros in 12' diameter pools. Worked good too but they discontinued it.

I like this idea.

I'm thinking pool size (above ground) if you have the room. Get a few and hope you have a male and female mix.

Majority of all breeders say that the males bottom lip overlaps the upper lip......A 400g tank with your dimensions is well enough to breed arows.......
