Arowana bruising

I went to a lfs yesterday and I noticed on their arowana, on the top of his body, there were a couple of scales that were darker then the others. I want to say that there a little purple. Does anyone know if fish can have bruises?

These are normal impact injuries they get from jumping against
a well-secured hood. The scales die, fall off, and grow back.
Most likely he has been recently transported.
