ok i need a diagnosis...or maybe some advice. i have a silver aro about 12 or 15 inches eats great acts normal EXCEPT i noticed maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago that he has started swimming in circles. hes the king of the tank swims around then once and awhile he turns slightly to one side and makes either a full circle or more but never more than 2 circles(i'm going to try and provide photos or video asap). i was told this could be one of two things, either he has an internal parasite which i've been treating by adding more salt to my water and doing frequent water changes, or perhaps hes just looking for food on the bottom.

please let me know if you have any info about this. will post pics or video soon.

thanks

yeah you will prob have to move him into a bigger tank eventually but for now that should be plenty. hmm im really sorry to hear that. hopefully he's just looking for food.. what other fish do you have with him, do you think he could be trying to avoid going into another fishes territory?

arowanas swim in circles. mine do dragon dances, and dive bombs, and upward thrusts. they dart side to side. they swing and swang. no need to worry unless it looks like unhealthy behavior. he's a fish, in a tank, eventually he's gonna start showing some personality lol

Ive noticed my silver do this every now and then too. seems normal.

my first aro would chase its tail and bite at it occasionally:nilly:

 That's awesome

Not really, can become a real problem aro shredding it's own tail.
