Arowana color

I just got a new silver arowana and noticed it has a lot of red in it, is there anyway to reduce it?

I believed those reddish hues will go away as they matured.

A normal healthy young silver arowana should show quite a bit of red hi lites.

This is a thread I started when I got the one I'm currently growing out. It's about 18" maybe 20" now.

I would say try to keep the red to do that feed foods high in carotene to have less red just feed foods low in carotene.

I agree with Aquanero . Normal young silvers should show lots of reds along with some blues and greens around the gills. His red means he's healthy. Here's mine when he was about 10" then at 15" and again at almost 20.

the red will disappear when it get bigger and older. But IMO I would rather have the red, it look nicer.
