Arowana damaged tail

My super high back red tail arowana got attacked by a Clarias batrachus & his tail and back fins just started falling apart I removed the catfish as soon as I noticed what had happened any advice would be grate and if it will grow back or not I’ve been using melafix and that seems to of helped out a bit as you can see in the photos and the arowana is eating fine the only other fish in the tank now is a black diamond stingray and he seems just fine

Clean water , salt at 1 tsp per g , and make sure it eats and continues eating.

Meds not required. Pristine water is the key. Try to do a 25-30 % water change every other day, if possible everyday.

Yes I’ve been keeping on top of the water he will be going in a new tank around 4 weeks as well & with the salt can that be used in the tank with the stingray I wasn’t sure about using salt so used the melafix

He’s also eating just fine he smashes crickets and meal worms nothing seems wrong with him apart from the obvious just the damaged tail from the catfish attack after that his tail just fell apart is that just because his fins was damaged and needed to fall off to reform ?
