i woke up this morning to find my silver aro laying on the floor next to my pond. i got him valentines day of 09 barely big enough not to have his yolk sac anymore. i measured him today and he was 15" no drop eye perfect condition. he was my favorite freshwater fish by far, he will be sadly missed. i knew this day may come one day it is the risk you run if you keep an aro in a pond, but it still breaks my heart. he would come 4" out of the water to grab pieces of fish fillet from my fingers, he would always calm me down and help me to relax when i would just sit and watch him swim so gracefully. as soon as i can afford to i am going to order another silver a black a jar and a lei. so i can try to get them to coexist in my pond.

ahh man im sorry dude =[ i just got my black jar yesterday its about 2 inches i know how sad i would feel if my jar jumped out...

Sorry to hear about your loss.

I think next time buy a pond net to cover up the top so you don't have to worry about the fish jumping. It'll also keep wild animals out of the water.

aww I am so sorry. I lost my silver the same way. Hopefully that void will soon fill with the joy your new babies bring you.

its an indoor pond no worrys about wild animals unless you count my girls cats. but we have been more worried about them falling in the pond and becoming a snack rather than them being the predators.

I feel your pain, I lost my tig about three days ago... I know it sucks!

Integrate a net around the pond somehow or water lettuce around the water edge.. I heard fish reduce jumpiness if there are floating plants. Correct me if I am wrong. Sorry for your loss.

sorry 4 ur loss
