in the past i have not had the best luck with arowanas

1. baby silver, my brother tells me i can put the silver with his piranhas, it looked good silver on top, piranhas on bottom, next morning silver gone

2. this is my brother: 8-9" silver choked on a gourami

3. baby silver choke on rosy

4. black aro, moving to new house, used tap water to refill tank forgot to treat it

5. jardini jumped out of tank

6. this is my brother: so my uncle gives my brother a nice silver to give to me, the silver is in a bucket with a lid, so my brother is on the airplane n he figures to open the lid to let silver breathe, he falls asleep, when he wakes up the silver is gone from the bucket, it turns out the silver had jumped out n my brother cant find it he even gets the other passengers to help him find the silver, but no luck

7. another silver died in the hands of my dad

but good news is i have a silver n have had him for 8 months now and he is healthy, hope this one lasts

i have 2 silver arowana's that always fight and as im 14 i cannot afford another aqaurium.i have them in a 37" long aquarium so if i get a 48" would they stop fighting? 1 of them has lost pieces of his tail and im wondering how to make them stop.

kid, first off no matter what 2 arowanas will always fight with each other no matter tank size, second 37" or 48" is way too small for a silver, give the silver time and hes gonna outgrow those tanks, just give them back

If you can't afford another aquarium, then you have the wrong kind of fish. Give them away or take them to the LFS, and buy fish that will fit in your tank. There are lots of fish that will. How do you have a 180 that's only 37 inches long? Tank setup says 180, but standard 180's are six feet long, two feet wide... your tank must be extremely tall.

little kid, i'm 17 and still don't have a fix job, and what i recommend you is to buy a divider for your fish tank, while your arows are still small (dividers cost like $10). then start saving every penny you have to buy a bigger tank

i didnt see that his tank was a "180 long", lol, my 175 is 6', his tank must be like 5' tall! someones exaggerating their size...

Maybe try a different kind of fish next time it happens again.

GL with your current silver sorry for your loss of the previous arowanas

LOL yes. I've found it to be a common problem with most men.
