my silver arowana died today, im wondering if an new eye problem could be to blame

I got this aro only about 1 month ago, he is 7 inches+

I havent had a fish die in aloong time, years, i got great water specs, 3 filters on the tank. Hes been feeding on market shrimp, feeders, and bloodworms/pellets. About 4 days ago he jumped and hit the top 3 time. I have the top covered tight so i dont find him on the floor in the morning, But later i noticed that one eye got really bulged, and a clear-mily color, but not the whole eye. But afterwards he was swimming and eating fine, a very frisky fish! now i get up today and hes floating :/

what do you guys think was the problem.

brain damage

Sorry for your loss:(

I would guess him hitting the top of the tank all those times did him in, sorry about your loss.

This thread concerns me deeply as my 10" silver aro is not eating tonight because of a big camochine last night.
Over the last week I have noticed hes been jumping and hitting the glass hood a lot within the first half hour of the lights going off. I'm not positive but I think my Clown Knife is spooking him. However he does seem to only be jumping on the left side of the tank. I know this because almost every morning there are new water stains and there is water behind the laminated background that wraps around the sides and back of the tank. The only difference between the left and right side of the tank is that the left side of the tank is about an inch lower than the right, resulting in a difference in water level.

Never-the-less I am sorry for your loss, I hope my arowana doesn't fall victim to brain damage as well.
