Arowana & Discus???

Hello,
Every LFS that actually has both discus and Arowana have them together in the same tank. Has anyone ever kept this combo? Any thoughts on if they could make good tankmates? I have a few discus and really want an Aro.

just as long as the discus cant fit in the aro's mouth you should be fine

ive had my 12'' aro with discus that were 2-4''...they were together for 6 months

It'll work fine with a silver or black aro. I would recommend that the discus be adults though.

Ive had them together with no problem... dont keep any other groups of cichlids however as they can be a bigger threat then the aros

Awesome thank you. Cool video as well. I can start looking for a larger tank now. I know bigger is better. I think between 300-400 gal is about is big as I could go with the space I have for my tank. Would that be large enough for a silver or black?

300-400 is a good size. the bigger the better, as an adult arow will add to the bio-load and you know how picky discus are with water conditions.

but i have kept a 7in silver arow with discus b4. no problems at all
