I was told by a guy who has arowana that dropeye on quality aros are normal.
Is this even remotely true?
Does it depend on silver vs jardini vs asian variant?
So if it has dropeye then how much less is it worth?

I don't think normal is the correct term, but it is pretty common in silvers. I don't think the cause is known but there are several theories. It is my understanding that most silvers are CB and inbreeding of those could be a reason for the frequency in those.

I have read many threads and articles about arowana's never heard of drop eye of any aro's as being normal.

Dropeye is normal for silver arowana from what I read n was told The eye muscles get lazy , plus in the wild silver arowana always look up for food In ouploadfromtaptalk1393730693907.jpgur aquarium they look downward for food alot
I have 2 silver one 26in n other about 24-24 both have drop eye on one eye

Its quite normal for silvers to develop drop eye , not so common with blacks , Asians and jardini you very rarely see it

I don't think normal would be the right word to use, but it is common in silver aros

I love arowanas, but I would probably never buy another silver because of the likelihood of drop eye. My old silver I had 12 Years ago developed on drop eye. It didn't bother me too much but they do look a lot better without it. My Jardini never did develop drop eye, and I grew to like them better. I now wish I could get an Asian aro of some sort.
