Arowana Feeding?!

I just got a new 8" silver and the guy at the LFS said they feed them floating pellets. Its been 3 days and he wont take any of the cichlid gold pellets (I asked specifically if these would work and he claimed they would.) I know a LFS worker should never be trusted but I did and now I need some advice. What food should I try? I know they like crickets but I dont want to be buying live crickets all the time!

I don't know about silvers, but my little jardini loves FD daphnia.

I'd try feeders, market prawns (Raw at first), nightcrawlers, anything thats "meaty" if meaty foods don't work first move up to live. I have a 10" Silver and he takes meaty foods over floating pellets everytime. Just some ideas

I feed my 10" silver krill and arowana sticks made just for them he loves those, sometimes i give him parts of night crawlers and live crickets as a treat

Try Hikari food sticks. My aro wouldn't even touch any other type of pellets--i've tried many kinds. But he gobbled that up the 1st time i fed him with it.

Hikari stix, my aros eat every day. If he's only been in his tank 3 days that could have something to do with it. Do a 25% water change, then try. If he doesnt eat within 3-4 minutes remove and try again avery few hours...If he is hungry he will eat...

I picked up some crickets for the mean time and he just ate four of them so atleast I know he will make it till I figure it out. I threw in a pellet after two crickets and he mouthed it but spit it out. Anyone have luck with cichlid gold?

mine eats cichlid gold and omega one pellets, but he doesn't really like them a lot.
I think aros like softer foods. I feed hikari arowana sticks as a staple and tilapia as a treat. He also gets live foods, but never feeders.

i have a 2inch silver that ive had for a few days
i just threw in some guppies for now
and ive been expirmenting with pelets and suck things
he cant eat the pelets just yet
he spits em out
