Hello everyone,
I got a silver arowana yesterday and so far it won't eat anything. I have tried plankton, freeze dried blood worms, plankton flakes, and a live mealworm. The fish just seems to ignore any food. I keep it in the cycled acclimation tank. Ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate <5. I don't have any black worms and won't have any till at least next Wednesday.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Usually it takes about a few days to settle in their new environment. I say keep the aquarium area dark for less stress and raise it close to 80degrees. Should be good in a day or two.

What size is the arowana?

some aro take sometime to get use to it new environment so give him couple more days. it happened to one of mine but after raised the temp. to 82F, it started to eat the very next day.

Thank guys, I'll continue trying to feed over the next few days. I will also start slowly raising the temperature (it's currently at 78 degrees).

Well since he's already not eating, then take this oppertunity to get him on pellets. Don't feed anything but pellets, once his hungry enough he'll eat them.

When I got my aro all he would eat was minnows.... I finaly jus had to starve him for lile 3 days before he was hungry enough to try somethin new.... Now he eats just about whayever

He tried to eat a plankton flake this morning, got a small piece and wouldn't try again. Not great, but definitely an improvement.

itll be easier if u get em on pellets while theyre young.
