Is it normal for arowana to eat little compared to other fish? My silver aro has been like this since I got it and is healthy and growing well, but it seems to eat maybe two bit of prawn/mussel every feeding and that's it while my cichla, Oscar and fire eel gorge themselves. Anything to worry about or normal?

Some Aros are just lousy eaters and also have a habit of fasting for prolonged periods of time so usually no cause for alarm.

And I must add that 'I think' silvers are worse than asians in that respect

Our silver is about 80cm, had her for I think about 4 years and boy it has a mind of its own!!!!
If you introduce a fish she doesnt approve of, she is not agressive to it.. she just wont eat for up to three weeks sometimes
If you put new decorations or change things around in the tank which she doessnt approve of... same story
A while back my son put some long plants in the tank that went right to the top of the ttank... lookes really nice but not to her liking so...she didnt eat for weeks until he took the plants out!!
Before, we used to stress BIG time now.... we just check that she doesnt look ill and give her time

Looks like they're a bit like Oscars in that sense, sulking if anything changes! I'm not worried about it because it does eat every day, it just seems to eat one piece of food each time and wasn't sure if this was normal for a silver, he/she is about 12" just now.
