Guys is it okay if I use a internal filter ( the type that attaches to the glass by suction cups) will it be enough ? the tank is a 90 G.Thanks in advance for all answers :)

Don't like the internals myself, most are unattractive and take up tank space.

Agreed..... and when you tank out the internal filter to clean it, most of the poo and uneaten food falls out any ways.

i would say not a chance. on my 90 i run an xp3 and 2x AC110. seems to do the job very adequately.

Problem is that here in Malaysia external filters are preety expensive.( sad face) But will an internal filter be able to get the job done ? ( BTW will the powerhead part of it disturb the fishes and cause stress ?)

look into ohf if you wanna stay in a small budget or go for canisters if you can.
the internal ones are not going to suffice.
sounds like u need to do alot of researching to do, ie cycling, and tank size that is appropriate for your aro.
good luck.

I would say that if you're thinking about keeping a fish that grows to two feet or more, stop worrying about cost. The tank upgrade and filtration that you're going to be looking at sort of negate saving money. These are expensive fish to keep. You might not even be able to keep fish with him, depending on his attitude. You're in for a ride -- provide the best for him, and know that this filter is the least of your worries!

Thanks for your advice guys.Im planning to keep the arowana in a 4 Foot long tank first and upgrade it later as he grows. And yes I have spent alot of time on research and taken care of arowanas before ( just not mine). One of the few hurdles left is the filtration =.= :P

try looking into OHF trays. they are the most popular type of filtration in your area, and should be pretty easy to get, and inexpensive.
also, you should build your own for just the cost of the return pump, and a couple of supplies from the hardware store.
