Hey guys, i have seen many pictures of arowana being caught in the wild that are about 40in long, how big do they get in captivity, on average ? a normal sized silver arowana ?

thanks
Alex

Your looking at silvers getting 30-36" maybe some bigger.

In good conditions 4 feet usually. It all depends on water quality tank size and diet.

:bs: let's see some proof of 4 footers in captivity. Or are these ones that exist at that fictitious LFS with the three 900 gallon tanks.

I was simply talking about the ones in TL's pond... I may have over shot there... calm down bro. And they're are 900 g tanks in the basement for show and for children's birthday partys big boy.

I heard 60"s and four 1,000g tanks at the IFS(Imaginary Fish Store):ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:!!!!

But really...A 30" to 36" is a huge captive silver..

ok, i saw one for sale in a small tank and i plan on rescuing it, but dont want to if it will grow to 40in, was hoping it would stay around 30

:liar: you gave the address to Creatures, creatures, creatures. It has been confirmed they have no 900g tanks. I can provide a phone number to anyone else that would like to call and verify Cichla dude's lies.

BTW one arowana in a pond does not constitute "usually" :duh:

cichla dude? Shut the hell up. I've called them seen them and seen fish put in there. Creatures creatures Creatures no longer exists dumba$$ and it hasn't for a couple years. its super sonic pets. Get your damn facts straight before you make a complete idiot out of yourself next time big boy. Anyone who referred to it as creatures creatures creatures clearly hasn't been in a while. Call them yourself and ask? Oh wait you haven't just like I thought.

I was wrong on the size I'm sorry about that OP.... 30-36 inches is much more common.
