I got two silver arowana fry still with their yolk sack free from my friend today, but are swimming freely. Anybody have tips on how to take care of them when they are this young?

make sure there arnt any sharp object so it dont poke the egg sack and just have a bare bottom tank.

The main thing is whilst thay have there egg sacks theyll feed off them, once they are gone get them on to little flaoting pellets bloodworm or anything theyll eat, Keep they water good as well, moer w/c they better the quicker theyll grow. try to keep tank mate to a none aggresive minimum whilst there small. if you know what i mean. not alot of flow either, nice and gentle but keep oxy level good.

What do pictures have anything to do with taking care of a baby arowana?

They way I have raised all my aro's successfully is keeping them in bare tanks, and I start by feeding them freeze dried blood worms. They float and are soft enough the baby aro can eat them without problems. Soon as they are 6" or so I start offering pinhead crickets and small pieces of krill along with the blood worms. As they get older and larger they will pick up on pellets, larger insects, and other floating aro food. I don't know if it helps or anything but also when I'm raising very small arowana, I have floating plants in the tank and keep the light really dim. It seems to keep them less stressed and less likely to jump.

Couple questions,.. What size tank are these in, and what do you plan on doing with them when they are 20"+?

Thanks for all the help. I don't have any pictures now, but will get some and post them tomorrow. They are in a 55 gallon right now, and when they get to 20+ they will be moved to my 220 gallon.

Hello there, I just put a baby silver w/yolk sack in a 40 long with about 6 small(1") pink convict babies. My problem is that a couple of the babie convicts decided that the yolk sack was lunch!!!!! I managed to get all the convicts out of the tank, But the yolk sack has a pin hole in the bottom!!!! That was 2 hours ago.....I just checked on him and he's free swimming at the top with no visible signs(other than the torn yolk sack) of problems. What can I do? will he be ok? I'm not very familiar with these fish and don't want to harm him trying to help him!!!!!
Please help,
Chris
