My silver arowana is about 7-8" and is in a 4x2x2, in the future he is goint into a 6x2x2, i was wondering if he could live with a pair of very mellow 12" Ocars, a pair of RTGG (again mellow, one of the RTGG used to live with the aro untill an incident with my dat) a perruno catfish and apair of baysnooks. He won't be moved into it untill hes about 14-15" and then we will upgrade when he needs it. What do you think?

just hope that the oscars don't get very curious about the aro
i had a silver with a pair of oscars
every time the oscars went close to the aro it used to get all freaked out and go banging everywhere

That sounds okay, but as everyone stated, you'd have to keep a close eye on the oscars.

This combo should work fine, but there are many times things don't work out. The only way you will really know is to try it out. You have many tanks so if need be, an emergency move is do-able.

We had a pair of Oscars that 'seemed' fine for quite a while....that is until they decided to team up on our Aro... even after we got the aro into a new tank the aggression, once started, continued and we had to seperate the pair of O's. The male O's aggression eventually forced a confrontation with Lucy....my RTC, one that he lost... The Male O is now recovering in the same tank as Pinky the Aro but by now shes 22" long and more than capable of taking care of herself.

Oscars will not typically hurt a large Aro, but they will charge at it with their mouth open to try to scare it...and guess what it works. Your Aro will be freaked out and will typically hurt itself.

I've tried singular Oscars with large Aro's several times and it has never worked.
