arowana gave me a scare this morning

i was about feed and the tank lights were off i heard a loud thump and i turned on tank lights my arowana 8-10 silver was so lifeless and i thought for sure he was a goner just floating and hope just not there , i watched for 5 minutes and went kitchen he was back at the top and looking about 85 percent normal , time passed back looking 100 percent and eating like nothing ever happened , i guess when i approached him with lights off he got scared and hit tank , he knocked him silly glad he is better , this ever happen to anyone

not knocked out but mine always hits the lids or the sides.
sometimes he looks a bit out of it after a hit.
scares us all the time,we can hear him bang the tank all over the house.

putting long floating pants in the tank helps give your aro an idea of where the top is and also seems to make them feel a bit more secure so you get a lot less jumping. The plants simulate a branch and the fish automaticly avoid jumping.

mine does that.
he doesnt mind me near the tank cause he knows i feed him.
but when someone alse goes near the tank,he jumps and swims all over.
once he actually jumped out of the tank.
he hit the floor and there was blood everywhere.
i put him in the tank and in an hour or so he was eating.
strong lil guys.

my jar has knocked himself out a few times... one time he sank to the bottom non moving i thought he was dead.. but he came round after awhile .... he banged his head about 2 weeks ago tho and hasnt been the same since... very timid and super jumpy...
annoying
