We always seem to talk about max tank size, length, and tankmates of Aro's. Does anyone know the different heights of the different species?

Silvers = Middle of all for height?
Blacks - shorter than the silvers, possibly the shortest of all
Jardini's - Seem to be HUGE in the middle
Leich - Not as tall as Jars
Asians - Same as Jars?

So when your looking at an aro swimming in the tank how many inches would he be heigh?

Here is a pic of my recent late Silver. He was 24" and 4-4.5 yrs old. I would guess he was about 4.5 - 5" tall at the head.

Anyone have any spec's for others?

i would say the girth of an asian aro is much deeper than a jar

i think a 24inch deep tank is the min depth if you want tank mates but 30inch is better

I have two silvers, at time of pics they were about 25" & 23", strange thing is the one shorter in length has a taller body. The longer seems more slender.

Not the depth of the tank....I mean the height of the fish. From bottom stomach to top of the back.

How thick (tall) is the fish itself.

yes asian aros do seam to have more girth that a jar
