Well I see this is your first post so I would like to welcome you to MFK.com!!!

First what kind of Arow is it, what size is he and what size tank do you have, how long has the tank been running with fish in it? answer those and we could probly help you better.

um its a silver aro
about 10-11 inches
and its in a 60 gallon
the 60's been running a whilke about a month and it just ahd a cichlid and a dragon but the aro ate both of those!
and i had some advice from a guy from the fish store and he saud to starve him for a good 3 days and then start feeding him the frozen shrimp the one where you take off the shelll and leave it under water for like 5 seconds then throw it in the fish tank...is that good? i used to feed it the jumbo shrimp or like the one thats processed already in a can? any advice what to feed it or am i doing alright?>

He's probably stressed from the move and he's almost already too big for the tank. I had an aro that didn't eat for 2 weeks after I got it because he was getting used to his new tank.

Keep the water as clean as you can, maintain a stable temp, and try chopped raw market shrimp. (no head, no tail)

It took 4-5 weeks for my black aro to become comfortable and a couple of weeks for my silver. Try feeding freeze dried krill, they float for a long time and are easily removed if not eaten. Once he is comfortable you can worm on varying his diet. Eventually once he is bigger and in a larger tank you will be able to get him to take frozen shrimp from your hands.

I know it is easier said than done, but you definitely need a bigger tank. he might get really stressed, or curled gills.

hey thnaks everyone but i just bought this frozen shrimp its not cooked but i think it might be processed is it still alright? and it still has the like shell and head, tail but i remove everything and cut it up into pieces he ate a lot today due to him not eating for like 4 days but should i just keep to this routine?

Feeding your aro a variety of foods would be the best. Also, IMHO live foods are better than non-live. Go back to your fish shop and find out what foods they have for aros that you can easily get.

I feed my aros a staple of gut-loaded live superworms, with live crickets, shrimp,, feeders and frogs almost every week too as treats. These mare all readily available here in the fish shops. You also might be able to get some live food (earthworms, shrimp) in fishing shops..
