Apparently it is a Banjar Red Aro crossed with a Green Arowana, and they are calling it a Red Tailed Emerald. Tells me it hails from Dreamfish in Singapore. I have never heard of this type of arowana, and am not sure on its value (He is asking $375.00 cdn, which is pretty close to USD right now). Nor what it will looked like when fully matured. It is around 8-9" right now, and seems in good health.

Any ideas or suggestions? Good deal?

I have not heard about this also....It comes with cert?
I say Take the deal it looks excellent or at least i liked it..

Recently went to local fish farm in Singapore, banjar red about the size as ur pic selling below SD$150. Banjar cross with Green, no comment ;)

You guys could sell them locally for 10 bucks and it wouldn't make a difference. You guys are lucky enough to breed them locally whereas in Canada we are lucky just to get Asian Arowana to begin with, shipping costs alone are huge. Of course there is a mark up.

arent banjar reds always crossed with greens anyway ?
Banjar red are not worth much but considering not many peoples import them and they dont come around alot. probably because they are a bit boring and colorless even when they mature. i guess the price is about right ( maybe on the expensive side )

I guess if you REALLY REALLY want a asian aro its a good fish to start with.

Just check for thr certs and chip of fish. If it comes frm singapore for sure it comes with a cert.. In singapore we call it the reservoir arowana as theres alot in our reservoir. Retail price as its mot legal to sell without a tag so black market for that size will be around 30-40sgd.. Coz a RTG here for now is as low as 100-150sgd piece with tag and cert :)
