Well here is the scoop. I have had this little guy for 2 weeks now and he is already about 5 inches including tail (3.5 when I bought him), but he seems dark for a silver aro. If you look closely at his scales it looks like a bunch of peppering (like on discus) and the bottom 1/4 of his anal fin is black. I havn't really seen any red on him except the little bit behind his gills.

Is this the normal coloration for the aro? I have him on white gravel too, I don't know if that has anything to do with it. It just doesn't look silver like a bala shark or a tinfoil barb.

Moving to the 75 gallon tomorrow.

How about a pic?

Yea really need to see a pic on this one.

I am sorry, I know this is somewhat useless without a pic, but the copmuter I am on right now (laptop) is a temp since my last compy died. It doesn't have the software on it to install this old digital camera (this has vista and my old one had xp) so it isn't compatable.

Do silvers have a strong black stripe along the bottom of the anal fin? I figure maybe he will grow out of it. I jsut havn't found any pictures of what it looks like. I will search google images.

THIS THREAD IS USELESS WITOUT A PIC

yea we need pics... but just observe him more... it maybe normal since he's growin but it can also bee sth like finrot...
