i Have a green Arowana about 7", it doesnt have drop eye but likes to look down, eat when the food has sank and will not touch anything on the surface.... what should i do??

I am also having a similar problem with my 8-9" Silver Arowana. He eats when the food is at the surface or mid depth of the tank but it seems that his eyes are usually looking at a slight down angle.

You should get some floating plants in there , also some floating balls(large bio balls work fine) it gives them something to look at other than the light! plus you might watch how the other fish are treating him- they could be making him nervous.

Get your aro eating food sticks or pellets would be the best thing. Don't feed foods that sink. Freeze dried krill, crickets and possibilities. You can also use a veggie clip to hold market shrimp or fish fillets at/near the surface.

Having an aro continually eat of the bottom can cause scar tissue to build up on the eye.

While the floating plants can provide a sense of security, what would they/or the floating balls do to keep the aro from eating off the bottom?
