Arowana not eating

I had my silver arowana for 2 weeks and he seems to be doing fine on Hai Feng pellets but today i switch over to a different type and he would just chew and spit. Is this normal? and how long will it take for him to get used to the new pellets?

How big is your aro? Usually the bigger the aro the more stubborn they can be. As long as it is taking them into its mouth youll be ok. Eventually its hunger will win out and itll eat the pellets.

It could take over a month but depending on the size of the silver depends how long you should starve it. Starving younger aros can lead to stunted growth so if its under around 18 inches starve him until he breaks and eats the new pellets. Older aros can go up to a month and a half with no side effects.

try some cold water freeze dried krill my Arowans like it I feed them that a few times a week and Tilapia fillets that I slice the long way then cross cut into smaller pieces my black is almost three feet long and my datnoid likes it too

it's normal , they can be fussy feeders , sometimes they take over a month to eat when in a new tank . he might never eat the new pellet - that's my experience - mine loves liver

Thank you guys its about 4-5 inches and I just bought Hikari Cichlid Gold the baby pellets and its eating readily again

I have jardini arowana
5 days back I feed em mutton liver he had it...
Since 5 days he stopped having shrimp food...
