So I am new to aros. I have 2 silver aros both 6in. They are kept in a 75, gal tank but will be moved to a 180 in a few months and ultimately will end in a take that's approximately 275. One jumped out of the tank when I opened the lid for feeding. It has been 3 days and it is alive and seems to be doing ok except for it sits in one corner n does not move much. The other aro is very active -this was this one before the jump- my pH is 7.5 - herd that's about where I should be for aros- ammonia is 0 nitrite read 0 nitrates are at 50-60 ppm -i will be doing a partial water swapping to fix this after I post- I guess I'm wondering is there anything I can do to get my aro back to it's normal self or is this just stress and time heals kinda deal? Need advice for the fish n my own peace of mind please. Thanks!

It's possibly injured itself internally when it jumped out but hopefully this is not the case and the Aro recovers fully.
aim to get nitrates down, like way down. 10ppm-15ppm. 60 is like really high imo. all you can do now is clean water and good food.
Good advice. Also, don't worry about pH with your aro. Whatever your tap is will be fine. The key to keeping aros is clean water and big tanks. Plan on upgrading real soon. A healthy aro puts on 2 inches per month...I've seen even faster growth than that out of my own. The number 1 killer of aros is the fact they are very jumpy fish. They will get real jumpy if they feel confined. They will slam the lid and mess themselves up. When they get large they can fatally injure themselves hitting the lid. Plan on eventually needing to keep them in an 8×3 or larger tank. Good luck!
Thank you folks for the fast response I did a 40% water swap and will be doing another smaller one tommorow. I hope it will be ok he swam around for a bit but now he is sitting on the bottom...
My silver has been a bit more active but it's still cruiseing the bottom. Got my nitrates down to 15 so gonna give it a day or 2 with no food then try feeding and c what happens thanks again everyone
Aro is doing well! Very well actually super active and eating like a champ. Just purchased a 325 gallon tank that I will be setting up some time in the next few weeks and they will be transferred to that
Great to hear man! Hope you end up with a bonded pair out of the two. It isn't statistically likely, but still a possibility
