Guys, I'm planning to convert my RTG's way of eating.
I want him to learn how to eat pellets as his main diet, and live feeds and etc as treats.

So, What help I need is, WHAT PELLET (BRAND AND TYPE) SHOULD I FEED MY RTG??

cuz I heard that some hikari pellets made for arowana contains a LOT of carotenoids,
and carotenoids is not good for gold/rtg arowanas, cuz it makes it look somehow redish/pinkish. So what pellet should I purchase? help please!

What you need to do is look at the ingredient lists of different brands of pellets, and you need to find one that does not contain astaxanthin. Astaxanthin is a carotenoi naturally found in shrimp & krill and provides red pigmentation. Hikari foods usually contain an ample amount of it. Hope this helps.

I think hikari arowana pellets should be good. I don't think rtg will turn pinkish due to carotenoids, unless if theres artificial color.enhancer

i have hikari food sticks. i starved my aro for a month already w/o food and it still wouldnt take pellets. argggggggg trying so hard not to give in

the trick is you have to keep anodher pellet eating fish with it, carp wud do....
So when your aro starts getting NO food and the other fella eats food, it wud also go for the pellets
i had a jardini, it was pellet trained by the lfs using this method
n also in my pond, i have rtc+ carp, the rtc chase away the carp n eats the pellets when itss feeding tym for carp LOLZ
