How do you guys get your arowana on pellets? The one I may get is about 5 inches. I've just heard they are very hard to feed. What do you guys feed your arowanas?

Young Aro's have to be weaned on pellets, carnivore floating food sticks etc., tbh getting them to eat is not that difficult. Freeze dried and floating foods are the way to go ime. Make sure other fish don't out compete Aro for food.

aros do better on a diet of insects and arthopods, crickets, Phoenix worms, mayfly larvae, katydids etc

Although I agree with you the insects listed would be difficult to obtain for most Aro keepers with the exception of the crickets.

Mayfly larvae occur in pretty much every river, lake, pond or stream in the world, katydids occur in most temperate to tropical areas of the world that contain trees, where the heck could someone live where they can't obtain at least some of these insects?

Tbh I would catch Katydids now and then but wouldn't go catch Mayfly larvae lol.

U don't like to get wet? Catching a may or damsel fly often only requires u grab a rock or branch in shallow water, there's often a bunch on a single rock or branch, a small price to pay for the most important food animal in freshwater

When I first started they would just spit it out. I made DIY fish food using shrimp, talipa, spinach, sweet potatoe, and Hikari carn sticks. Every batch I would add more and more Hikari. One day I dropped the Hikari and they just started eating it. I fed them 2 weeks straight just on Hikari and now it's part of their diet rotation.

I feed my juvie RTG crickets, shrimp, mealworms, super worms, earthworms. Similar experience to Jennilyn, although mine still "hits and spits" the Hikari, it will get it at some stage.
