how long on average can an Aro be out of water and be OK? During a water change right now my 5” black jumped out. It took me about 4 or so minutes to find him and get him back into the tank. He’s swimming around and seems overall fine but just traumatized.... anyone else have this happen? Shorty quality picture cuz I’m still filling/aerating the tank for him. His eyes look a little less clear now but I’m thinking thats from prolonged exposure to air

It looks ok in the pic but a little time will tell. Fortunately you found the little Aro before it dried up also they are natural jumpers.

I know they’re natural jumpers. My tank tops are sealed beyond sealed lol. He just happened to slip out when I was in there vaccuming the gravel. Bounced right off my arm and into a pile of clothes, took me probably 5 minutes to find him. I put an air-bar in there. He’s swimming around fine I’m hoping he’s fine, but like you said only time will tell

If it jumped on a pile of clothes that's a good thing because was concerned about internal injuries. Just keep water in pristine condition and you won't have to worry about fungus.

Thank god I was in the middle of a water change haha. By the time I found him he was in the closet on the carpet. But he bounced off my arm halfway down into the pile of clothes. I think physically he is fine. He’s moving around perfectly now. Seems to like the airbar too(as if he didn’t get enough air already tonight lol). Ill keep you all updated

Great to hear that.:)

Yo i had the same issue with my snakehead. Give it time. I used nova+ for 5 days treatment to be sure and now it's healthy

I put some prime in(because I was changing water when it happened) and I put some stress coat in there as well just to help him out a bit. Fingers crossed he’s still swimmming when I get home from work
