Hey folks,

I just moved up to the Seattle area from Orange County, CA...I'm having to adjust to the fish community up here still, looking into some LFS but haven't seen any I've liked with decent prices or stock.

I'm looking into young Arowanas (black preferred), Peacock Bass, Fire Eels and Bichirs (ornate preferred). I most likely won't be mixing all of these species together, just giving the members a good "shopping list" that I have in my head. I have a small tiger shovelnose catfish right now, about 3 inches long...so I'm looking at getting fish around the same size.

I've owned all of the above species of fish at one point or another, but moved with just my hardware and need to restock up here. Let me know if you have anything that fits my parameters, or know of any shops that I can check out in the area. (I'm actually right near Issaquah although my address is Bellevue)

Feel free to post pics of your fish, or PM me prices.

Thanks in advance!

;)

The guy at kings discuss can get fire eels. The other one in international district has p bass and several different arrowana species... Mr Laus Pets (pretty gnarly place down a dark alley off king st, near kings discuss) can get anything you want but not till he gets to know you (I go visit him almost every Sunday). Sierra pets can order lots of stuff and the renton store on grady has a pretty good selection... hope that helps! Of by the way I'm pretty sure fire eels aren't "in season" they normally come in fro se asia aug and sept... that only matter cuz they are way more expensive right now...

Thanks for all the info! I've been to all the Sierra stores already. I'll for sure check out the ones you added, also.

I'm also going to check out Aquarist World Seattle and A Place for Pets this week!

Aquarist world has tons and tons to look at but most of their stock seem to be in very poor condition... just a heads up... the shops in china town (international district now... geez) have BY FAR the best stock (health) in the entire area. You have to deal with very poor customer service, but you tell them how much you are willing to pay, ("$8? No ill give you $4 each... ok $6 dollars each but I don't want to pay for that one..." that sorta thing...). If you visit Mr. Laus don't freak out this place is seriously GNARLY! Do spend time looking at what he has... also keep in mind its china town so you'll see lots of flower horns... lol

Goto wafishbox, more of your locals there, great people and a thread of all the stores in or near Seattle. Make a trip down to ptown and check out wet spot, more spendy but a sure 1 stop shop, they've got everything you've listed. All there enlicheri are sold out. Never the less it'll be a nice place to know.

Get to know Michael, Kevin and Jeff Those guys can get you what you need And or want. Good luck with your search...

Thanks for the replies guys! I may have to check Portland out, I drove through it when I was moving up...but I was in a Uhaul towing my car behind, so I didn't get a chance to walk around the city. It looked like a cool place.

And I moved up from Westminster/Garden Grove, Cali...I'm used to the million flowerhorn march, haha!
