As I stated a few weeks ago I got a new aro to replace my 14'r that jumped. I have noticed something great about him. He is a lot more interactive than my last 1. He foloows me when I walk past the tank, and today I tapped the top and he jumped to get my finger. Is he just more aggressive or was the last one just a punk?
 
I think they all have different personalities. My first I had back in 1989-90 used to love to be touched. he actually would rest in my hand. The one I have now seems to recognize what food he is getting. His favorite is crickets, I believe he can recognize the plastic bag when I bring them near the tank., He goes crazy almost as if he's gonna swim through the glass. When he see me go into the feeder tank, he just calmly waits for me to put the feeder in the tank. Gotta love'm
 
My old silver was generally pretty skittish, definately wouldn't follow me. Really just the opposite. It must be cool to have such an interactive aro.
 
My 24 " RTG gets all wiggly and giddy when the bowl of food comes. He always watches anyone around the tank, when he's not Alpha bully to the other guys:naughty: .

welll she jsut broke a 3 weeks fast

she is 4 years old and only 26in.....something around there :irked:
 
I think Boydo stole my thunder. I was going to say that they can seem very interactive when the keeper of the food comes around. Hey Boydo, why don't you post a picture of your fish on this thread. I'd love to see it (the RTG). How much do they cost in Canada for a fish like that, and at what size?
 
i just got mine on the 22'nd.. it already follows me when i walk past the tank
it recognizes the FD shrimp container, and a net full of rosy reds..(well...not FULL..maybe 10 or so)

i think i found my new favorite fish :D
 
Price on them varies on quality, my 24" RTG was $900.00 and 4" whenI got him, Another RTG I have is 10-11" he was $1100.00:) . Super Red $2000.00, Sapphire XB $4000.00, and AA+ Grade Golden Head Bukit Merah Blue $6000.00:eek: . And the prices can be higher depending on size and quality.
