Arowana plus Tropical Gar?

Alright, I know that Tropical Gar and Arowanas are probably a horrible mix but I wondered if anyone has had any experience. I love Arowanas, and I would like to buy one today but I don't really feel like waking up within the month finding a Arowana ripped in half by my Tropicals. I would like to purchase a specie of Asian Arowana, not sure which one yet, which is around 9 inches. However, my gars are 12 inches long.

Anyone have any experience with this combo?

I keep trops and aros no problems. I have for years. More problems with the gars nipping each other then bothering aros.

Thank you for the reassurance. My gars seem to be the same way towards my new aro.
