OK
i have jardinii
its rather large now, 15 inch maybe 16 inch, but not much more than 16inches.

it will spend maybe 2 months maybe 3 and would eat 1 to 3 prawns per day. prawns are shelld, no head stuffed with massivore delite.
then the last 2 weeks, it has eaten next to nothing except maybe total of 1 whole shrimp, a locust and a goldfish.

reason is that when it does this usually, i feed it a small gold fish or insenct, and it re stimulates its appetite.
but going on third week, still not eating much. kinda goes for the shrimp, then its like it cant be bothered to eat it.
you know, it sees it, goes for it then kinda loses interest.

it repeats this cycle generally regularly.

i am wondering why they do it?
i mean it doesnt look thin by all means in fact its thick bodied.

it has no trouble going for live food, or the locust, but shrimp, i goes off it and goes back on... strange

Arows in general are very moody... and can sometimes fast for weeks ... then go back to normal....

try crickets or earthworms that might help

Anyways i had an aro do this after i first fed it super worms it refused to eat anything else, you should feed it live only once in a while as a treat because this stuff is like crack to them

so ur trying to say that ur aro eats a little bit right? and u want it too eat more if so try cricket, earthworm,my arows cant resist

wel, it stopped eating for couple of weeks
2 days ago, it ate half a shrimp and it goes for the shrimp i put in thre but when it gets semi close, it ignores, it has done it before
and it usually goes back to normal and eats like a pig again
but.... wondering why they do this
there must be a reason

it will definately eat crix, locusts and worms but why off the prawns
why off eating in general
usually it comes up to the tank and gets excited, but when it gets in these moods, it doesnt seem intersted, just cruises along gently and relaxed

Its probably just at a size where you don't have to feed it as much all the time. Have you thought of reducing the amount of food you give him daily so that the jar stays a bit on the hungrier side?
I usually feed my jar MP with hikari sticks in the morning and then earthworms and a couple crickets all stuffed with sticks at night. I think its good to give him a good variety daily.

yeah, fair enough
well, its eating again
i dont like my fish hungry
i have over filtration, and massive and lots of waterchanges solely so i can fatten and make sure my fish is never hungry lol
