i have heard of rating for the quality of arowana 1st grade 1.5 grade etc... and i was wondering how this system works and how to grade an arowana, i have searched the internet but i cant find anything:confused:

What you are refering to is applied mostly to Red Arowanas. Grade 1 being Super Reds (Chili or Blood Red), Grade 1.5 is Reds. 1.5 Reds are the ones that do not turn Red, they turn pale or pink at the most. Those are "cheap" red ones that are not pure blood, or crossed with another type of aro (greens mostly).

I see that you are from Canada, you can join ArowanaClub.ca if you feel like it. It is a site dedicated to arowana hobbyists from Canada.

I think there is a defined system for aquacultured Asians but on Aquabid, I see sellers trying to sell jardinis and others using grades like A++. I don't think there is a system for jars and silvers. It is just a way to get the price up. A wild caught fish has no grading scale in my opinion.

thanks for the help guys im going to join that aro forum thanks for the site.
