So I'm in the beginning phase of getting an arowana. I've really become sold on jardini and leichardti arowana. A few question I have for now is what size tank/pond should I be looking into for either of these arowana, and I'd like to hear pro's and cons on these two species.

180 would be fine for a good amount of time. But with either of those fish I would look for a 6x3 tank to give plenty of turn around room
Marineland makes a 300 deep dimension that would be fine. I'm not sure of the price if your not concerned about show quality tank and on a budget check out glasscages.com
