Im thinking of getting into arowana collecting and have a couple of questions.

1)Whats the best species of arowana to start off with.
2)Is there morphs if so what species.
3)Do they do well with other fish.
4)How do morphs happen.

try a silver or a jar... i liked the jars better and they're quite hardy and cheap. plus they have alot more personality than the silvers

i personally like silvers, just depends what you like. what size tank do you have?

Jars are easier too keep in a one fish tank. The silver requiers a lot more space but isint that aggressive. Young Silvers can be hard too keep. Witch i think is a nice project for a semi fishkeeper like me!

Semi experienced i meant!

if your a newbie and wants a comm of fishes, try leis.. though they are harder to find than silvers or jar.. silvers are harder to keep than jars because they require a larger space and very skittish when young.. and also of you are beauty conscious, the DE the silver will soon be getting might turn you off.. jars on the other hand are sturdy fishes but are less likely to tolerate tankmates.. to know more about which aro to keep, there is a sticky up there.. just read it.. lol
