In my tank I have ,

1. teacup ray
2 marble angels
9 clown loaches
3 blue gouramis
2 indian gouranis

I gust bought a silver arowana and I am keeping him

will this combo work or what should stay or go ????

On a side note..can i put a tire track eel in with my ray ? my lfs said no but i dont ever trust them, I usually know most than they do, I have had cichlids for years but noe branching off into different things.....

thanks, chris

The angels and gourami's might be in trouble when the aro gets bigger.

loaches gouramis and angels could be food just never feed live feeders to him and he might not try to eat your fish keep him on smaller types of food to so he dont think that large things are food this is what i do and my big silver only trys to eat sick fish now and will leave all others alone of course he only tried to eat one fish ever otherwise my bichir swims next to him all the time

Once fish look like they can start fitting in each others mouths...thats when you should start removing them, otherwise the combo seems fine based on size!

ok, thanks guys, i was more worried about someone messing with my aro, I was told by a buddy of mine that they are not really hardy fish at the 5-6 inch size ( which mine is ) as my angels are full size.... any other opinions are VERY welcome :headbang2

hes a good size to be very tolerant its when they are smaller than 5" that you have to be careful dont get me wrong he could still die but when he gets to the 7"-8" mark you should be safe from losing him as long as nothing happens just make sure he get enough food

:iagree:

As long as you keep your water clean it should not be a problem at this point. I've found that even smaller aro's tend to do pretty well, as long as the water quality stays up. Keep an eye on him if you are worried about the aro getting bullied, but I think he'll be alright, as long as he is getting his food.

think you should be relocating some of your smaller fishes when your silver gets bigger
