I just got a 7" arowana about 3 days ago and he hasent eaten at all. I was just wondering how long it takes for them to settle in and start eating again.

hey i got one similar size awhile back and i didnt make it.wouldnt eat anything i tried.i was told by a guy if your fish wont eat its your water.where i canada r u im in saskatoon sask

I had a similar issue at first. It helped to keep the lights off for a few days and I feed live foods before pellets just to get the fish accustomed to me. After a week he was eating aggressively. At this time I weaned him onto pellets. It could have something to do with presentation, tank mates etc.

I wouldn't worry if it doesn't eat they won't eat until they are settled in so long as your conditions are right he will be fine. plenty fresh water & good bio filters is the main thing. My RTG took a month before he would eat, my juvenile starting eating within 10 mins of him been in his new tank. try feed him on a night half hour after the lights go out that may help. Some wont eat any pellets , large meal worms are good

I put my new 3" in a planted tank of swordtails. He was bulging in a day. Try and get some fry from a friend in the hobby to get him started.

I gave a small feeder fish, he ate it. Then I gave him one small pellet and he ate that to so thanks for all the great advise you where wright that i just had to get him started!

yes get it on pellets! I guess your aro was just getting used to the new tank!
