An island somewhere......
Hey guys, my leichardti's not looking so hot...... clamp fins, loss of appetite, lethargy......... just sitting on the bottom of the tank and not very active. Looks like potentially a slow death! I think there is some sort of "velvet" type of stuff on his body, not totally evident but it appears to be white flakes (not ick though). The water parameters are fine. I've done water changes, added epsom salt, Melafix and Pimafix without luck. Just did a 30% water change, and repeated forementioned treatment. What other meds. should I toss in there? I was looking at Maracyn-Two but everything seems to be a duplicate of what I've been using. Any and all help would be appreciated!

gday m8,doesnt sound to good.i lost my jar a couple of months ago from similar symptoms.have his eyes sunken in at all?

Nope.... not sunken in yet but he's starting to get thin...... anyone have any suggestions?

Tank is a 60 as a growout..... Lei is at about 6" TL. Figured this way he can get some size before disappearing in a 240g. Temp is at 78 with HOB filters doing the water circulation. He's progressively getting worse as well as the 2 loaches in with him and a flagtail. I originally had 3 flagtails, one dominated the other two and was moved out. The one that was beat up was removed and later died. I didn't quaratine the flagtails before introduction so I'm thinking this was my dimise..... he's been fine with the loaches for the last 6 months til after the flagtails showed up! F#$%@!

First I would do a large water change..50%, raise the temp to 85-86 and a measured cup of salt per 50 gallons. The temp will kill most parasites. Thsi should clear it up within 7-8 days. If it is bacterial and doesnt clear up, I would start off with some Melafix... Hope this helps
Remember to do a large water change before meds, and remove carbon.

..I am sorry to hear this ..i hope he will be okay. :(

Water change until params are good, Increase temp to 88-90 F, add melifix and primafix at full strengh, and increase salt ( 50/50 Epsom/aquarium ) to 0.3-0.5 % over the course of a day. and continue for a week with a 25 % water change every 3 days, remember to add salt for the water taken out.
