My arowana fins started looking rough so I treated with melafix for 7 days I also added salt to the tank I'm limited on med I can use because of my stingray. They are currently in a 55g where in a 125g but that was converted to a sump for there new 600g home. The small tank was only supose to be over the weekend but thinks to plumbing issues it has turned into closer to 2 weeks. Praying to get that fixed this week. Water quality isn't great my canister filters are starting to fail so I had a powerhead running most of the time I have no ammonia or nitrite but my nitrate has an elevated just wondering if he needs to heal or needs more treatment thanks for any help

if he is eating then he is fine. rip fins and tail are normal, give it time and it will heal up. i have a dozen of arowana in my pond now and then they would get some rip fin and a few weeks or months later they heal up normally

Have you checked you pH ? I know you said your checked other p's but no mention of pH , pH crashes also cause aro's fins to rot I'd check your gh and kh too that'll cause sudden pH drops if they are low too

I can't really tell because the pic is too dark but to me it look like it got in a fight with another fish. If it have white milkey line then it's fin rot.

No white line I'll try and get a better pic tonight it doesn't really look like nipping

Check your pH that's my best guess after ruling out fights , finrot and ammonia (which would probably show other symptoms)

Ph 7.4 yo 7.6 it shows out of range on both the reg. And the high range ph with the api test kit

could it be high ammonia? i think high ammonia could burn fish fins and tails? maybe trying to do a few water change and adding some stress coat if u have some? just put it as an idea right now. im not sure until a clearer pic. but i think he should be fine. did it got any worst or better?
